Savile Row Tailor Changes The Style Rules for Women at Royal Ascot.
June 2017 - Female Savile Row Trained Tailor Makes Style History at Royal Ascot.
Ascot, UK: Sinclair London collaborates up with celebrity stylist Joanna Femi-Ola who introduced us to the fabulous Tootsie Rollers, a vintage inspired girl group with sheer classic 1940’s fashion style with each singer having her own fashion icon.
A day at the British Races in Berkshire, Royal Ascot is one of the biggest events of the summer. Every year for the past five years, vintage girl group the Tootsie Rollers have always been the favourites to entertain in the Royal Enclosure. Performing their latest single to the Queen, the Royal Family and media coverage in the Metro, celebrity stylist Joanna Femi worked with Creative Director, Alicya to create bespoke tailored suits for Ladies Days.
This year was the year of “The Trouser Suit” to push the traditions of fashion at one of the most recognised events in British history. Traditionally, women's trouser suits were not part of the dress code at Royal Ascot, but this year the girls decided to drive a style risk forward.
Sinclair sketched 6 bespoke suits that each matched the individual of each singer. Drawing inspirations from the 1940’s era, each women’s suit was crafted in couture fabrics from double crepes to satins and silks.
