Commonwealth Games 2022

Back in the UK.

Alicya and the team have been privileged to be onsite in preparation for the 2022 Commonwealth games in Birmingham over the last 4 months.

They have been creating a wide range of bespoke costumes and production pieces for the cast from pro dancers to athletes and headline talent. Designed by Michael Sharp, who is known for designing Take That Concert tours and Dancing on Ice accompanied by industry legend, Tahra Zafar - well known for creating creature costumes for the likes of Harry Potter, Star Wars & X-Men.

The stunning outfits created by Alicya and the team will be on show during the Opening & Closing Ceremonies of the Games.

The opening ceremony will be taking place from 8pm - 11pm on the 28th of July 2022, at the Alexander Stadium in Birmingham.

On December 21st, 2017, Birmingham was announced as host for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

This will be England's third time hosting the Commonwealth Games and the United Kingdom's 7th.

As a nation we have been privileged to have hosted the games previously in: London 1934, Cardiff 1958, Edinburgh 1970, Glasgow 1986, Manchester 2002 and Glasgow 2014.

The Commonwealth Games is an international multi-sport event for members of the Commonwealth that will span from the 28th of July till the 8th of August 2022, and in true Birmingham style meet Perry the Bull as the Games Mascot.
